It’s a common problem, the GameCube eject button is stuck and the door won’t stay shut. Believe it or not, this is a very easy fix! Sometimes I find them at thrift stores this way, other times pawn shops sell them to me as “defective” because of this issue, but regardless of where I find them, it takes just a few minutes to repair, and anyone can do it! Seriously, if you know how to use a screw driver, you can repair this issue!
First of all, you’ll need to purchase a special type of screwdriver called a 4.5mm Security Bit. This can be used on many other nintendo products as well, so they’re nice to have around. I recommend getting a full screw driver, rather than a bit that goes onto a screwdriver because it needs to be able to reach down about two inches into the console.
Once you have the tool, it’s a simple fix. Check out this 5 minute youtube video demonstrating how!
